What Is The Difference Between The Port Area Cut-off Time And The Port Area Cut-off Time?

Cut-off time: The time when the shipping company changes the bill of lading format. Cut-off time: Usually 4 to 5 days before sailing. Before the last time to change the bill of lading format, the bill of lading format and information can be modified many times. After this, the bill of lading modification will incur a bill of lading modification fee. There is no standard time. It varies from shipping company to shipping company. Some are on the sailing day, and some are within a week after sailing. Before cutting off the order, you need to prepare the following information:

1. Information of consignee and consignor

2. Information of notify party

3. Port of departure and destination

4. Product description, number of pieces, gross weight and volume

5. Vessel name and voyage number

6. Container number, seal number and mark information, etc.

7. HS code

8. Bill of lading information

9. Bill of Lading

Port cut-off is the weight cut-off time, which means that before this time, the loaded containers must enter the dock or warehouse. If they exceed this time, they cannot enter again. It is usually 1 to 2 days before the ship's departure date, and 5 to 7 days in advance for bulk cargo. Sometimes people often confuse the three cut-offs, namely, bill cut-off, customs cut-off, and port cut-off. We have already talked about bill cut-off and port cut-off. Customs cut-off refers to the deadline for customs clearance and release. It is usually 1 to 2 days before the ship's departure date (5 to 7 days in advance for bulk cargo). As we can see from the figure, the customs cut-off time is basically two days before the expected departure date.

Only by mastering the time nodes of each project and making preparations in advance can we minimize economic losses.

If arranged in order, it is usually the customs clearance, port clearance, and order clearance time. The most fundamental thing for shipping is to accurately determine the shipping date based on the shipping company's sailing date.
